The Story

A Viking Duel of Strategy and Power

Claim the land. Defeat your rival.

Looking for a fast, tactical Viking board game of pure strategy? In Hird, two leaders face off in a battle for control over a contested piece of land. Victory goes to the first player to control the five central spaces or push the opposing king off the board.

This abstract strategy game offers tense, head-to-head gameplay with simple rules and deep tactical possibilities. Every move matters, position your warriors, defend your king, and outthink your opponent to claim victory.

Why should you play Hird?
• Viking-themed abstract strategy for two players
• Win by controlling the center or eliminating the opposing king
• Quick to learn, deep to master
• Perfect for fans of tactical, head-to-head games
• Compact and fast, ideal for repeated play

Command your warriors. Control the land. Prove your right to rule.

How to play?

players start on each short end of the board and take turns. Each turn they can make five moves. For a move, a player either moves one piece (Hird or King) one step, moves a Hird into or off a Karve (boat), or moves a Karve and all Hirds on it one step. A Karve may have at most four Hirds on it. Pieces entering empty spaces have to stop. Pieces entering enemy-controlled spaces stop on the line between the spaces. After a player's five moves, any conflicts (pieces on lines) are resolved.
